30 stunning reasons why you should eat more bananas.

Hi Dassyb blog readers, hope you are having a great weekend? Today I would be discussing about various benefits of eating bananas. I got it from various researches online and you would be surprised at how many benefits you can get from banana. Infact you'll never look at a banana the same way again after discovering the many health benefits and reasons to add them to your diet. Bananas are the most popular fruit in the world. combat depression, make you smarter, cure hangovers, relieve morning sickness, protect against kidney cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and blindness. They can cure the itch of a mosquito bite and put a great shine on your shoes. Here are 30 reasons to eat bananas.

1.Bananas help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin -- the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter.
2. Eat two bananas before a strenuous workout to pack an energy punch and sustain your blood sugar.
3. Protect against muscle cramps during workouts and night time leg cramps by eating a banana.
4. Counteract calcium loss during urination and build strong bones by supplementing with a banana.
5. Improve your mood and reduce PMS symptoms by eating a banana, which regulates blood sugar and produces stress-relieving relaxation.
6. Bananas reduce swelling, protect against type II diabetes , aid weight loss, strengthen the nervous system, and help with the production of white blood cells, all due to high levels of vitamin B-6.
7. Strengthen your blood and relieve anemia with the added iron from bananas.
8. High in potassium and low in salt, bananas are officially recognized by the FDA as being able to lower blood pressure and protect against heart attack and stroke.
Eating Bananas Aids Digestion
9. Rich in pectin, bananas aid digestion and gently chelate toxins and heavy metals from the body.
10. Bananas act as a prebiotic, stimulating the growth of friendly bacteria in the bowel. They also produce digestive enzymes to assist in absorbing nutrients.

11. Constipated? High fiber in bananas can help normalize bowel motility.
12. Got the runs? Bananas are soothing to the digestive tract and help restore lost electrolytes after diarrhea.
13. Bananas are a natural antacid, providing relief from acid reflux, heartburn, and GERD.
14. Bananas are the only raw fruit that can be consumed without distress to relieve stomach ulcers by coating the lining of the stomach against corrosive acids.
Natural Cures From A Simple Banana
15. Eating bananas will help prevent kidney cancer, protects the eyes against macular degeneration and builds strong bones by increasing calcium absorption.
16. Bananas make you smarter and help with learning by making you more alert. Eat a banana before an exam to benefit from the high levels of potassium.
17. Bananas are high in antioxidants, providing protection from free radicals and chronic disease.
18. Eating a banana between meals helps stabilize blood sugar and reduce nausea from morning sickness.
19. Rub a bug bite or hives with the inside of the banana peel to relieve itching and irritation.
20. Control blood sugar and avoid binging between meals by eating a banana.

21. Eating a banana can lower the body temperature and cool you during a fever or on a hot day.
22. The natural mood-enhancer tryptophan helps to relieve Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
23. Quitting smoking? Bananas contain high levels of B-vitamins as well as potassium and magnesium to speed recovery from the effects of withdrawal.
24. Remove a wart by placing the inside of a piece of banana peel against the wart and taping it in place.
25. Rub the inside of a banana peel on your leather shoes or handbag and polish with a dry cloth for a quick shine.
26. Make you sleep better This is also because of the “trytptophan,” says Cassie Bjork, RD, LD of Healthy Simple Life. “It’s a precursor for melatonin, which promotes relaxation and helps to regulate sleep.” Peel one before bed.
27.Makes you feel  fuller. Prior to ripening, bananas are rich in something called resistant starch , which, as the name suggests, literally resists the digestion process. This feeds healthy gut bacteria, which suppresses the appetite and leads to more efficient fat oxidation. In fact, one study found that replacing just 5 percent of the day’s carbohydrates with a source of resistant starch can boost post-meal fat burn by up to 30 percent! Since underripe bananas are a bit bitter, we suggest adding them into weight loss smoothies with other fruits and veggies to mask the taste.

28. It fights cancer. Delphinidin is an antioxidant found in bananas that has anti-tumor properties. A study in Food and Chemical Toxicology found that applying concentrations of delphinidin to stomach cancer cells inhibited their growth and proliferation. Controlling your weight also reduces the risk of cancer.
29. It improves vision. Bananas contain vitamins A and C, and “both are antioxidants and are eye and skin-healthy nutrients,” says Smith. “They also have beta carotene, an antioxidant that can help to protect cells and repair damage at the cellular level, and bananas also contain other nutrients like vitamin E and lutein-—both which are eye healthy. Lutein is a nutrient that may help to reduce risk for macular degeneration.”
30.Oh, and remember -- bananas make great snacks and delicious smoothies.

Hope this has been helpful, start eating more bananas today.

Champions league results... madrid and Wolfsburg record away wins.

Hi Dassyb blog readers and football fans, results recorded from UCL fixtures played yesterday is shown below. The 2 away teams recorded victory yesterday. Cristiano Ronaldo's 33rd goal of the season helped Real Madrid take a big step towards the Champions League quarter-finals with victory at Roma in the first leg of their last-16 tie. The Portugal forward struck in the second half with a deflected finish. Roma had their chances, particularly on the counter, with Edin Dzeko hitting the side-netting.However, Jese's low drive late on leaves Roma with it all to do in the second leg.

While in the other match, two late goals dragged Gent back from the brink in an enthralling Champions League last-16 tie against Wolfsburg. The impressive Julian Draxler started and finished a rapid counter-attack to break the deadlock. Draxler doubled his side's lead, taking advantage of poor defending to coolly chip Matz Sels, before Max Kruse guided home Christian Trasch's cross.
But Sven Kums' brilliant late strike and Kalifa Coulibaly's header gave the underdogs hope of progressing.

Hi dassyb blog readers and sport fans, the champions league is back and last night two matches were played to kickstart the round of 16 round. Paris st Germain defeated Chelsea at home by 2 goals to one while Benfica also recorded a 1 nil home win over Zenith st Petersburg.

Jonas headed in a 91st-minute winner as the home side edged a tense tussle to eke out a narrow first-leg lead while PSG went ahead through Zlatan Ibrahimovic's deflected free-kick.But John Mikel Obi scored a precious away goal, capitalising on some terrible defending to sweep home a deserved leveller from six yards. Chelsea's stoic defending had them on course for a draw, before Cavani steered home Angel di Maria's pass. The 29-year-old Uruguay striker, who has been used primarily as back-up to Ibrahimovic this season, scored moments after substitute Oscar spurned a chance for the visitors.

What you need to know about Zika Virus

Hi Dassyb blog readers, hope you had a beautiful week because I did. This weekend I would be writing a bit on zika virus. The World Health Organization has declared the Zika virus a global public health emergency. The infection is suspected of leading to thousands of babies being born with underdeveloped brains. Some areas have declared a state of emergency, doctors have described it as "a pandemic in progress" and some are even advising women in affected countries to delay getting pregnant. But there is much we do not know in this emerging infection.

What are the symptoms?

Deaths are rare and only one-in-five people infected is thought to develop symptoms. These include:
  • mild fever
  • conjunctivitis (red, sore eyes)
  • headache
  • joint pain
  • a rash
  • A rare nervous system disorder, Guillain-Barre syndrome, that can cause temporary paralysis has been linked to the infection. There is no vaccine or drug treatment so patients are advised to rest and drink plenty of fluids. But the biggest concern is the impact it could have on babies developing in the womb and the surge in microcephaly.
What is microcephaly?
It is when a baby is born with an abnormally small head, as their brain has not developed properly. The severity varies, but it can be deadly if the brain is so underdeveloped that it cannot regulate the functions vital to life. Children that do survive face intellectual disability and development delays. It can be caused by infections such as rubella, substance abuse during pregnancy or genetic abnormalities.

A child born with microcephaly due to mothers infection with Zika vvirus

Why is it a public health emergency?

The World Health Organization is worried that Zika is spreading far and fast, with devastating consequences. Declaring Zika as a "public health emergency of international concern" singles the disease out as a serious global threat. It puts it in the same category of importance as Ebola. Unlike Ebola, where the focus was on boots on the ground, with Zika the attention will be on understanding the link with microcephaly. The WHO will coordinate countries' health agencies to conduct trials to determine the risk. It will also encourage efforts to stop the mosquito that spreads the disease as well as finding a treatment or a vaccine to stop the virus. The work will depend on money donated by countries.

Where did Zika come from?

It was first identified in monkeys in Uganda in 1947. The first human case was detected in Nigeria in 1954 and there have been further outbreaks in Africa, South East Asia and the Pacific Islands. Most were small and Zika has not previously been considered a major threat to human health. But in May 2015 it was reported in Brazil and has spread rapidly.
It has since also been reported in: Barbados, Bolivia, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Suriname and Venezuela.

How does it spread?

It is spread by Aedes mosquitoes. They are found throughout the Americas except for Canada and Chile where it is too cold for them to survive. If they drink the blood of an infected person they can then infect subsequent people they bite. It is unclear for how long someone can transmit the virus after being infected. They are the same insects that spread dengue and chikungunya virus. And, unlike the mosquitoes that spread malaria, they are mostly active during the day, so bed nets offer limited protection. It can also be transmitted from a pregnant mother to her fetus during pregnancy or around the time of birth.

Can it be spread through sex?
There have been reported cases of sexual transmission with the virus spreading to people who have not visited affected countries.  This seems to be a very rare event, but it means Zika has a limited potential to spread in any country - not just those with the Aedes mosquito.
Some countries advise men returning home from affected countries to use condoms if their partner is pregnant or might become pregnant. This should be done for 28 days after coming home if you have no symptoms, and for six months if Zika symptoms do develop.
Zika virus has also been found in other bodily fluids including saliva and urine, but it is unknown whether the virus can spread through these routes.

How long are people infectious?

The best evidence so far suggests that people can spread the virus via mosquitoes for a week after being infected. In semen it may persist for two weeks. Countries have advised safe sex and a ban on blood donations for a month after just visiting such countries and for longer if they developed symptoms.

What can people do to treat and prevent it?

As there is no treatment, the only option is to reduce the risk of being bitten. Health officials advise people to:
  • Use insect repellents
  • cover up with long-sleeved clothes
  • keep windows and doors closedclosed
  • Use Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered insect repellents. All EPA-registered insect repellents are evaluated for safety and effectivenes.
  • Treat clothing and gear with permethrin or buy permethrin-treated items.
  • The mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so people are also being told to empty buckets and flower pots. The US Centers for Disease Control has advised pregnant women not to travel to affected areas.
Are you immune for life once infected?

Once a person has been infected, he or she is likely to be protected from future infections.

Tips to attain a healthy hair

Hi  Dassyb blog readers. Today's post is on tips to attain a healthy hair style.
It's not difficult to attain long and healthy hair. Hair stylist Sylvia Chen says, "To ensure that you have a good hair growth, you must incorporate some essentials like washing your hair with cold water, including proteins in your diet and massaging your scalp every day."

Here are a few tips...

Brush your hair: Brushing your hair at least 50 times a day will improve the blood circulation to your scalp. This also gives the hair follicles a force to grow. You must brush your hair for at least 10 minutes before you go to bed.

Rinse your hair with cold water: Says Chen, "Make sure that you wash your scalp with a blast of cold water after you've applied shampoo and conditioner. This will tighten the pores and improve blood circulation to your scalp."improve blood circulation to your scalp."

Go for a head massage: Putting some pressure on your scalp will not only ease your stress and worries, but will also ensure that your scalp receives nutrition, leading to hair growth. You can either get a scalp massage done at home every week or visit a salon for a professional one every 15 days.

Oil your hair twice a week: Apart from getting your scalp massaged, you must also oil your hair every week. Oiling ensures that your hair gets nutrition, thus preventing hair fall.

Tie up your hair every night: Did you know that tying up your hair every night will protect your hair from friction with the pillows, thus preventing hair fall? It also ensures that you do not get split ends and your hair does not become rough.

Follow a protein-rich diet: Incorporate proteins like fish, meat and legumes in your diet to ensure that you have strong, healthy hair. Adds Chen, "Proteins are good for your scalp, as it increases the blood flow and also makes the roots stronger."

Australian open Women's Final... Angelique Kerber stuns Serena Williams

Hi Dassyb blog readers and Tennis fans. Hope you had a great weekend. Austrailian open finals were played over the weekend and Germany's Angelique Kerber stunned world number one Serena Williams in three sets to win her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.
Kerber, seeded seventh, won a thrilling final 6-4 3-6 6-4 at Melbourne Park.
The 28-year-old is the first German to win a major singles title since Steffi Graf at the 1999 French Open.
Williams, 34, was beaten for just the fifth time in 26 Grand Slam finals, and the American missed the chance to tie Graf's open-era record of 22 titles.
Kerber, who saved a match point in her first-round win over Misaki Doi, will move up to number two in the world rankings.

Kerber blunts Williams' power game
Kerber had won just one of six previous matches against Williams and was making her Grand Slam final debut, but she was the better player over two hours and eight minutes on Rod Laver Arena.
She led Williams in the ace count until the latter stages, limiting her to just seven overall, while the American racked up 46 errors to just 13 by Kerber.
Williams made 23 mistakes in the first set alone - sparking memories of her desperately nervous display in losing to Roberta Vinci at the US Open last September - and Kerber took full advantage to claim it after 39 minutes.
However, the defending champion cut her error count to just five in the second set and claimed it thanks to a single break in game four.

Kerber twice moved ahead in the decider and a stunning sixth game saw the German produce two fine drop shots and win a breathtaking 19-stroke rally to cling on to her serve and edge closer to victory.
Nerves took hold and she was broken while serving for the match, but she launched into the Williams serve once again and clinched the title when the world number one sent a volley long.
'A dream come true'
Kerber said afterwards that being able to say she was a Grand Slam champion "sounds crazy".
"It's my dream come. I worked for this my whole life," said the German.
"It's been such an up and down two weeks, I was match point down in the first round and had one foot in the plane to Germany.
"Now I have beaten Serena and won the championship. I have so many emotions, so many thoughts, but all of them good ones."

Williams was gracious in defeat, telling Kerber: "Angie, congratulations. You deserve this and I'm so happy for you. I really hope you enjoy this moment."
The runner-up added: "Would I give my performance an A? No, but this is all I could produce.
"I'm not a robot. I do the best that I can. I try to win every point but realistically I can't. Maybe someone else can."

Australian open Final... Djokovic crushes Murray

World number one Novak Djokovic beat Andy Murray in straight sets to win his sixth Australian Open title and condemn the Briton to a fifth final defeat.
The Serb, 28, won 6-1 7-5 7-6 (7-3) to claim his sixth Melbourne title, tying the record of Australia's Roy Emerson.
Djokovic also draws level with tennis greats Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver on 11 Grand Slam titles.
Second seed Murray, 28, has now lost all five Australian Open finals he has played, four of them against Djokovic.

The Scot becomes only the second man - behind his former coach Ivan Lendl at the US Open - to lose five finals at the same Grand Slam since the open era began in 1968.
He was expected to head straight to the airport after the final to return to London and his wife Kim, who is due to give birth to their first child in the next two weeks.
Djokovic has now won four of the past five major tournaments, including three in a row, and will try to complete his career Grand Slam with a first French Open title in June.
Match reaction
Murray: "I feel like I've been here before. Congrats Novak. Six Australian Opens is an incredible feat. The last year has been incredible. Good job.
"I'd like to thank my team for getting me to this position. Sorry I couldn't get it done. Thanks for all your support during a tough few weeks off court.
"And finally to Kim, my wife, who is going to be watching at home. You've been a legend. I'll be on the next flight home."
Djokovic: "I need to pay respect to Andy for having another great tournament. Tough luck tonight.
"He's a great champion, great friend and a great professional who I'm sure will have many more chances to win this trophy.
"I also wish you and Kim good luck for the birth of your child and I hope you will experience a feeling like no other before - that's what happened to me and my wife. I wish you all the best."

Slow start hurts Murray
Murray fought hard after a wretched start but ultimately could not cling on to the pace set by Djokovic, who has suffered just one defeat in six years on Rod Laver Arena.
The British number one came back from a break down in an 80-minute second set, and again in the third, before succumbing to an 11th loss in 12 matches against Djokovic.
Murray needed to make an early impression but Djokovic saved an early break point and then raced 5-0 clear as the Scot made a succession of errors.
It took 24 minutes for Murray to finally get on the scoreboard but the set was soon gone and he was faced with successfully recovering a deficit for the first time in 31 meetings with Djokovic.
Murray was still under pressure as the second set developed and hauled his way through a gripping 12-minute game at 1-1, giving him a foothold in the contest.
Some harder hitting brought success, only for costly errors to keep tripping up the Briton at crucial moments - and Djokovic looked to have made a decisive move when he broke again for a 4-3 lead.
Murray fightback falls short
It prompted a recovery from Murray, who powered his way to a break-back point in the following game and converted with a terrific backhand winner onto the line.
At last it was Djokovic who was berating himself rather than the Scot, but with a tie-break looming at 5-5 the five-time champion produced a burst of brilliance that took the match away from Murray.
Murray was in charge on serve at 40-0 only to crumble under a spectacular display of hitting from his opponent, who reeled off five straight points, including one stunning 36-stroke rally.
The Serb showed an unexpected fragility as two successive double faults offered Murray a lifeline in the next game, but he recovered with a good serve and closed it out thanks to three straight errors across the net.
There was still plenty of fight in the challenger and Murray roused himself to come back from a break down at the start of the third and force a tie-break.
It proved a reflection of the match as a whole, though, as Murray started poorly with two double faults and was out of touch by the time Djokovic sealed victory with an ace after two hours and 53 minutes.
