Football round up... Mourinho sacked, Guadiola to leave Bayern and Barcelona wins 3rd club world cup

Hi Dassyb blog readers, hope u had a great week? Seasons greetings. Below is a list of interesting stories that happened over the week in football.

In England, chelsea football ball club parted company with controversial coach Jose Mourinho and appointed Gus Hiddink as interim coach while several high calibre coaches are linked to the club. The decision divided Chelsea faithfuls as some supported while the others disagreed.

In Spain Barcelona were crowned the club world cup champions after defeating River plate by 3 goals to nil with goals from Lionel Messi and Luis Shares making the club the first team to win the trophy thrice. As the final whistle blew to bring the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2015 to a close, Luis Suarez was named player of the tournament by FIFA’s Technical Study Group (TSG). The Barcelona and Uruguay striker was presented with the adidas Golden Ball and the Alibaba E-Auto Award for two outstanding performances in which he scored five goals. FIFA.com brings you a round-up of all the tournament’s awards:
adidas Golden Ball and Alibaba E-Auto Award: Luis Suarez (Barcelona)
The Uruguayan international was the standout performer of this year’s FIFA Club World Cup, dazzling crowds with his finishing prowess, unwavering dedication and boundless enthusiasm. He guided his team to the final almost singlehandedly by scoring three goals against Guangzhou Evergrande before adding a further two strikes in the deciding match. Despite equalling Cesar Delgado as the competition’s all-time leading scorer, Suarez’s vital contribution involved more than just goals. He constantly troubled opposition defenders, posed a threat with practically every move he made and did not shirk from his own defensive duties. Winning the adidas Golden Ball and the Alibaba E-Auto Award crowns a successful year for the 28-year-old, who can now celebrate clinching both the FIFA Club World Cup 2015 title and its most prestigious individual accolade.

adidas Silver Ball: Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
After being forced to miss the semi-final against Guangzhou Evergrande through illness, the Argentinian superstar returned in time to face his countrymen and show off his considerable skills in the final. The River Plate defence struggled to contain Messi throughout as he led his team’s many attacks with his remarkable pace, underlining the importance of his contribution to the side by scoring the opening goal that set the Spanish club on the road to victory. The 28-year-old also shone as an unselfish provider constantly on the lookout for his team-mates, and received the adidas Silver Ball in recognition of his formidable performance.
adidas Bronze Ball: Andres Iniesta (Barcelona)
As well as providing a vital link between defence and midfield, the Spanish international also set Barcelona’s pace. Iniesta set up his team-mates with an array of clever passes, repeatedly tearing apart the opposition defence with his vision and awareness. By dictating the rhythm of both of the newly crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions’ matches, the 31-year-old earned himself the adidas Bronze Ball.
FIFA Fair Play Award winners: Barcelona
The UEFA Champions League winners were not only the FIFA Club World Cup 2015’s most successful team but also its fairest. Collecting the FIFA Fair Play Award rounds off an
extremely successful trip to Japan for Barcelona.

In Germany, Pep Guadiola will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season with the club announcing former real Madrid coach as replacement. Pep is being linked to several high profile clubs in the premier league, but hands are crossed waiting for which team he decides to coach next season.

Why you should eat at least one apple today

Hi dassyb blog readers, welcome to a new week. This week I will be continuing with the fruit series but today the focus is on why you should eat an apple today.Delicious and crunchy, apple fruit is one of the most popular and favorite fruits among the health conscious, fitness lovers who firmly believe in the concept of “health is wealth.” This wonderful fruit is packed with rich phyto-nutrients that, in the true sense, indispensable for optimal health. Certain antioxidants in apple have several health promoting and disease prevention properties, and thereby, truly justifying the adage, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

Benefits of eating apples

Apples have been said to have numerous health benefits, some of them are listed below.

1 . Get whiter , healthier teeth
An apple won ’t replace your toothbrush , but
biting and chewing an apple stimulates the production of saliva in your mouth , reducing tooth decay by lowering the levels of bacteria .

2 . Avoid Alzheimer ’s
A new study performed on mice shows that
drinking apple juice could keep Alzheimer ’ s away and fight the effects of aging on the brain . Mice in the study that were fed an apple- enhanced diet showed higher levels of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and did better in maze tests than those on a regular diet.

3 . Protect against Parkinson’s
Research has shown that people who eat fruits and other high - fibre foods gain a certain amount of protection against Parkinson ’ s , a disease characterized by a breakdown of the brain’s dopamine -producing nerve cells . Scientists have linked this to the free radical -fighting power of the antioxidants contained therein .

4 . Curb all sorts of cancers
Scientists from the American Association for Cancer Research , among others, agree that the consumption of flavonol - rich apples could help reduce your risk of developing pancreatic cancer by up to 23 per cent . Researchers at Cornell University have identified several compounds —triterpenoids— in apple peel that have potent anti-growth activities against cancer cells in the liver , colon and breast . Their earlier research found that extracts from whole apples can reduce the number and size of mammary tumours in rats. Meanwhile , the National Cancer Institute in the U .S . has recommended a high fibre intake to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer .

5 . Decrease your risk of diabetes
Women who eat at least one apple a day are 28 percent less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who don ’t eat apples . Apples are loaded with soluble fibre , the key to blunting blood sugar swings.

6 . Reduce cholesterol
The soluble fibre found in apples binds with fats in the intestine , which translates into lower cholesterol levels and a healthier you .

7 . Get a healthier heart
An extensive body of research has linked high soluble fibre intake with a slower buildup of cholesterol-rich plaque in your arteries . The phenolic compound found in apple skins also prevents the cholesterol that gets into your system from solidifying on your artery walls. When plaque builds inside your arteries , it reduces blood flow to your heart , leading to coronary artery disease .

8 . Prevent gallstones
Gallstones form when there’ s too much cholesterol in your bile for it to remain as a liquid , so it solidifies . They are particularly prevalent in the obese . To prevent gallstones , doctors recommend a diet high in fibre to help you control your weight and cholesterol levels.

9 . Beat diarrhea and constipation
Whether you can ’t go to the bathroom or you just can ’t stop , fibre found in apples can help. Fibre can either pull water out of your colon to keep things moving along when you are backed up , or absorb excess water from your stool to slow your bowels down .

10 . Neutralize irritable bowel syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome is characterized by
constipation , diarrhea, and abdominal pain and bloating . To control these symptoms doctors recommend staying away from dairy and fatty foods while including a high intake of fibre in your diet.

11 . Avert hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are a swollen vein in the anal canal and while not life threatening , these veins can be very painful . They are caused by too much pressure in the pelvic and rectal areas . Part and parcel with controlling constipation , fibre can prevent you from straining too much when going to the bathroom and thereby help alleviate hemorrhoids.

12 . Control your weight
Many health problems are associated with being overweight , among them heart disease , stroke, high blood pressure , type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea . To manage your weight and improve your overall health , doctors recommend a diet rich in fibre. Foods high in fibre will fill you up without costing you too many calories.

13 . Detoxify your liver
We’re constantly consuming toxins , whether it is from drinks or food , and your liver is responsible for clearing these toxins out of your body . Many doctors are skeptical of fad detox diets , saying they have the potential to do more harm than good . Luckily , one of the best— and easiest —things you can eat to help detoxify your liver is fruits— like apples .

14 . Boost your immune system
Red apples contain an antioxidant called quercetin. Recent studies have found that
quercetin can help boost and fortify your immune system , especially when you ' re stressed out.

15 . Prevent cataracts
Though past studies have been divided on the issue , recent long- term studies suggest that people who have a diet rich in fruits that contain antioxidants— like apples — are 10 to 15 per cent less likely to develop cataracts.

16. Delicious and crunchy apple fruit is notable for its impressive list of phtyto-nutrients, and anti-oxidants. Studies suggest that its components are essential for optimal growth, development, and overall wellness.

17. Apples are low in calories; 100 g of fresh fruit slices provide just 50 calories. They, however, contain no saturated fats or cholesterol. Nonetheless, the fruit is rich in dietary fiber, which helps prevent absorption of dietary-LDL or bad cholesterol in the gut. The fiber also saves the colon mucous membrane from exposure to toxic substances by binding to cancer-causing chemicals inside the colon.

18. Apples are rich in antioxidant phyto-nutrients
flavonoids and polyphenolics. The total measured anti-oxidant strength (ORAC value) of 100 g apple fruit is 5900 TE. Some of the important flavonoids in apples are quercetin, epicatechin, and procyanidin B2 . Additionally, they are also good in
tartaric acid that gives tart flavor to them. Altogether, these compounds help the body protect from deleterious effects of free radicals.

19. Apple fruit contains good quantities of vitamin-C and beta-carotene. Vitamin C is a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals from the body.

20. Further, apple fruit is a good source of B-complex vitamins such as riboflavin, thiamin, and pyridoxine (vitamin B-6). Together, these vitamins help as co-factors for enzymes in metabolism as well as in various synthetic functions inside the human body.
Apples also carry a small amount of minerals like potassium, phosphorus, and calcium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure; thus, counters the bad influences of sodium.

So after reading about this numerous benefits, don't forget to take one today.

Fury dethrones Klitschko to become world heavy weight champion

Hi Dassyb blog readers and boxing lovers, welcome to a new week. Over the weekend British boxer Tyson Fury has become the world heavyweight champion, beating Wladimir Klitschko by a unanimous decision in Düsseldorf.
Many onlookers called it for Fury, including the ringside teams from Sky and HBO, and those unofficial verdicts were backed up by the judges, who called it 115-112, 115-112, 116-111 in the Briton’s favour, even though he was docked a point for rabbit punches in the 11th round.

PA reports that at the final bell, the 27-year-old raised his arms in triumph and the Ukrainian was noticeably slow to follow suit. After Fury’s win was confirmed, the emotional Mancunian called Jesus “my rock, my salvation” and went on to say: “I can’t believe it,” breaking down in tears.
“It’s hard to come to a foreign country and win,” Fury said. “When I got [the point docked] I thought I had lost.”
“You’re a great champion Vlad, thanks very much for having me,” said Fury, moments after his win was announced.
“It was all fun and games in the buildup, I just wanted to be confident, young and brash.”
He then burst into a rendition of Aerosmith’s hit ballad ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’, dedicating it to his wife and his fans in Ireland, the UK, the United States and Germany.
The buildup to the fight had been colourful and controversial, ranging from Fury’s entrance to a London press conference dressed as Batman to threats by the Briton that he would pull out of the contest altogether due to issues over gloves and the ring canvas. Indeed, the controversy continued right until the first bell as Klitschko apparently had his hands wrapped without a member of Fury’s team watching, as is custom. They therefore demanded the champion cut them off and start again, delaying the start.Fury’s hopes of victory pinned largely on his height – three inches taller than Klitschko at 6ft 9ins – and his age, at 27 being 12 years younger than the champion.
The unbeaten Fury (24-0,18KOs) had even claimed the bout against the hugely experienced Klitschko (64-3,53KOs) would be “an easy fight”, but he obviously started a heavy underdog. However, with question marks over both fighters’ ability to take a shot, Fury had a decent ’puncher’s chance’.
He looked relaxed as a sizeable travelling army of supporters cheered his walk to the ring. Fury ran across the ring towards Klitschko at the first bell, a bundle of nervous energy. An early right hook nearly landed as the pair fenced with each other.
The second was just as cagey but Fury, feinting constantly, landed a couple of half-decent left hooks which arguably won him the round. Fury, switching stance to southpaw and show-boating, was boxing well without landing much.
Fury landed a right in the fifth but a Klitschko right hand was arguably the best punch of the fight at that stage. Klitschko, meanwhile, suffered a cut on the cheek.
Klitschko, who is used to fighting shorter opponents who he can keep at arm’s length, was looking every one of his 39 years as his ponderous, orthodox style threatened to lose him the fight. As dull as the action was, Fury was boxing beautifully and seemed to be having the time of his life. Klitschko finally opened up with the right hand in the ninth, landing it properly twice. Fury dealt with it well, however, landing a big left hook in return.
The Ukrainian landed a thudding one-two in the 11th as opinion among observers differed as to whom was winning.
Fury began the 12th aggressively and a left hook hurt Klitschko and chants of “Fury, Fury” rang out. Klitschko landed a ferocious right hand again but Fury shook it off well as the fight finally caught fire. Fury was hurt by another, however, but held on for the final bell.
Both men claimed victory but when the scores were announced it was Fury’s moment of glory.

Why you should consider eating a water melon today

Hi Dassyb blog readers, hows your week going. today's post is about watermelon and its health benefits. Despite popular belief that watermelon is made up of only water and sugar, watermelon is actually considered a nutrient dense food, a food that provides a high amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants for a low amount of calories.  Watermelons are mostly water — about 92 percent — but this refreshing fruit is soaked with nutrients. Each juicy bite has significant levels of vitamins A, B6 and C, lots of lycopene, antioxidants and amino acids. There's even a modest amount of potassium. Plus, this quintessential summer snack is fat-free, very low in sodium and has only 40 calories per cup.
Scientists have taken notice of watermelon's high lycopene levels — about 15 to 20 milligrams per 2-cup serving, according to the National Watermelon Promotion Board — some of the highest levels of any type of fresh produce. Lycopene is a phytonutrient, which is a naturally occurring compound in fruits and vegetables that reacts with the human body to trigger healthy reactions. It is also the red pigment that gives watermelons, tomatoes, red grapefruits and guavas their color.
Lycopene has been linked with heart health, bone health and prostate cancer prevention. It's also a powerful antioxidant thought to have anti-inflammatory properties Watermelons have become synonymous with summer and picnics, and for good reason. Their refreshing quality and sweet taste help to combat the heat and also provide a guilt-free, low maintenance dessert for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
To really maximize your lycopene intake, let your watermelon fully ripen. The redder your watermelon gets, the higher the concentration of lycopene becomes. Beta-carotene and phenolic antioxidant content also increase as the watermelon ripens. Nevertheless, "All parts of the watermelon are good. There are a lot of nutrients throughout.
Another phytonutrient found in the watermelon is the amino acid citrulline, which converts to the amino acid arginine. These amino acids promote blood flow, leading to cardiovascular health, improved circulation, and according to research at Texas A&M University, erectile dysfunction improvement
Along with cantaloupe and honeydew, watermelons are a member of the botanical family Cucurbitaceae. There are five common types of watermelon: seeded, seedless, mini (also known as personal), yellow and orange.

Health benefits of watermelon

Consuming fruits and vegetables of all kinds has long been associated with a reduced risk of many lifestyle-related health conditions. Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like watermelon decreases the risk of obesity and overall mortality, diabetes, heart disease and promotes a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, overall lower weight.

Asthma prevention: The risks for developing asthma are lower in people who consume a high amount of certain nutrients. One of these nutrients is vitamin C, found in many fruits and vegetables including watermelon.
Blood pressure: A study published by the American Journal of Hypertension found that watermelon extract supplementation reduced ankle blood pressure, brachial blood pressure and carotid wave reflection in obese middle-aged adults with prehypertension or stage 1 hypertension and that watermelon extract improved arterial function. Diets rich in lycopene may help protect against heart disease.
Cancer: As an excellent source of the strong antioxidant vitamin C as well as other antioxidants, watermelon can help combat the formation of free radicals known to cause cancer. Lycopene intake has been linked with a decreased risk of prostate cancer prevention in several studies.
Digestion and regularity: Watermelon, because of its water and fiber content, helps to prevent constipation and promote regularity for a healthy digestive tract.
Hydration: Made up of 92% water and full of important electrolytes, watermelon is a great snack to have on hand during the hot summer months to prevent dehydration.

Choline also helps to maintain the structure of cellular membranes, aids in the transmission of nerve impulses, assists in the absorption of fat and reduces chronic inflammation.
Muscle soreness: Watermelon and watermelon juice have been shown to reduce muscle soreness and improve recovery time following exercise in athletes. Researchers believe this is likely do to the amino acid L-citrulline contained in watermelon.
Skin and hair benefits: Watermelon is also great for your skin because it contains vitamin A, a nutrient required for sebum production that keeps hair moisturized. Vitamin A is also necessary for the growth of all bodily tissues, including skin and hair.
Adequate intake of vitamin C (one cup of watermelon provides 21% of daily needs) is also needed for the building and maintenance of collagen, which provides structure to skin and hair. Watermelon also contributes to overall hydration, which is vital for having healthy looking skin and hair.

Sexual Health:L-arginine may also help with erectile dysfunction by helping to relax your blood vessels, including those supplying blood to your penis – and that's why watermelon is sometimes referred to as "Nature's Viagra." In fact, citrulline supplementation has been found to improve erection hardness in men with mild erectile dysfunction. Health risks

If eaten in reasonable amounts, watermelons should produce no serious side effects. If you eat an abundance of the fruit daily, however, you may experience problems from having too much lycopene or potassium.
The consumption of more than 30 mg of lycopene daily could potentially cause nausea, diarrhea, indigestion and bloating, according to the American Cancer Society.
People with serious hyperkalemia, or too much potassium in their blood, should probably not consume more than about one cup of watermelon a day, which has less than 140 mg of potassium. According to the National Institutes of Health, hyperkalemia can result in irregular heartbeats and other cardiovascular problems, as well as reduced muscle control. Watermelon lovers to be mindful of their sugar intake. "Though watermelon's sugar is naturally occurring, [watermelon] is still relatively high in sugar."
Actually it is the excessive lycopene that causes the problem associated with too much consumption of watermelons; it causes indigestion, gas formation, nausea and vomiting because too much of anything is not good at all.
Thus intestinal disturbance is one of the prime reasons of having so many watermelons in a day and especially for elderly people because the intestinal tract is weaker with age and the symptoms are more exaggerated than normal.
Watermelons contain high levels of potassium and high potassium levels can lead to complexities of the heart and the nervous system. Too much of potassium can mess with the normal heart beats, weak or absent pulse and can lead to heart attack. It can also lead to damage of kidneys and control of motor nerves.
People suffering from the kidney problems must refrain from eating too many watermelons as it can seriously cause internal damage.
Many people may have allergy to watermelons and eating them can trigger various allergic reactions in the body like rashes, itching, sneezing etc. obviously then watermelons are a strict no-no for them.
Too many watermelons increase the levels of Nitric Oxide which has a relaxing effect on the body.
It may also decrease the blood pressure and in many cases this may be harmful as too much decrease in the blood pressure may cause the internal arteries to be damaged.
Too many watermelons can decrease the blood sugar levels and ultimately damage the kidneys as decrease in blood sugar triggers the production of insulin which may hamper the kidneys.
As we can see that consuming too many watermelons can cause detrimental effects on the body on organs such as kidneys, nervous system, heart, arteries and nerves.
